Duane Noll wins Cinco De Mayo Night at Monadnock Speedway
WINCHESTER, NH — For the second year in a row, Duane Noll was able to pull off the victory on Cinco De Mayo night at the Monadnock Speedway and extend his point lead over the remainder of the field. Glen Noll would start on the pole in truck # 72 with Tom Metcalf along side in truck #8. As the green flag waived, G. Noll would get the jump and lead briefly into turn one before Duane Noll, who started third, moved low to take the top spot in truck #2. Metcalf would follow through for second followed by Brad Caddick in truck #44. G. Noll would be able to drop back in line in fourth place followed closely by Tony Lafo in fifth with truck #151.
The field would stay this way till lap three when Metcalf and Caddick would make contact exiting turn four sending Caddick into the right front of Glen Nolls Chevrolet and giving Metcalf a left front flat tire. Noll would have minor damage to the right front nose of his machine. Lafo would have minor damage to the right sides as he had contact trying to avoid the wreck. Metcalf would have to go to the pits for repairs as the rest of the trucks were able to resume in the race.
On the restart it would be Duane Noll on the pole with Lafo along side. As the race resumed, Noll got the jump followed by Caddick who was battling for the second spot with Lafo as the pair would swap this spot over the next few laps. While they battled for second D. Noll was able to open up a sizable lead. Lafo would finally take the second spot as Caddick would have issues and drop off the pace. Glen Noll would take the third spot as Caddick dropped to fourth. The field would remain this way over the final nine laps with D. Noll winning. Lafo would come home a solid second with Glen Noll having a great run finishing in third place.
The New England Truck Series now has a few weeks off to regroup and get ready for the summer stretch. Our next race will be Saturday June 1st at the Monadnock Speedway.
