Randy Myers Named General Manager of Ace Speedway by Short Track Management

WINSTON-SALEM, NC (January 14, 2015) – Randy Myers of King, North Carolina, has been named General Manager of Ace Speedway, located in Elon. It was announced in December that Short Track Management of Winston-Salem, assumed the lease on Ace Speedway for the 2015 racing season.

Myers has had a lifetime of experience and roles in racing, beginning as a fan watching his famous father Billy, a NASCAR National Sportsman Champion and two-time NASCAR Grand National Series (now Sprint Cup) winner, and Uncle Bobby, also a NASCAR Grand National competitor, and then in his roles as Track Owner & Promoter, and most recently “Series Director” of the Koma Southern Modified Touring Series. Throughout his tenure Myers also worked on the performance side of the industry with Hank Thomas Performance.

“When it was time to identify a General Manager to lead our efforts at Ace Speedway, there was no question that Randy Myers was the right person for the job. Randy’s leadership skills and deep, multi-dimensional, knowledge of the sport enable him to move quickly as we build our 2015 schedule and racing program”, stated Short Track Management, CEO Bill Catania. “Randy’s talents and 40 years of experience are a huge asset to Short Track Management as we continue to lease and purchase tracks throughout the country – he provides immediate best practices and will be an advisor and mentor to some of our other General Managers.”

“Ace Speedway is and has always been a premier facility within the region and I am looking forward to working with the teams and local sponsors to architect the best possible program for fans that we can in 2015”, stated Ace Speedway General Manager, Randy Myers. “It was assuring to see over 150 drivers at the recent rules meeting held on January 11th – if that is any indication of the interest by terms for the coming season 2015 should be one to remember.”

Ace Speedway will open its 60th continuous racing season featuring five divisions of racing for Late Model Stocks, Limited Late Models, Modifieds, Mini Stocks and Extremes, on Friday April 3, 2015. Ace Speedway has 20 “Friday Night” racing events planned for 2015 and 38 Weekend Kart events planned for the Ace Speedway Kart Track.
