Booth Team Names Dave Shullick Jr. as Driver of the #61

Oswego, NY – It was announced this morning by car owner Clyde Booth that Dave Shullick Jr. will fill the seat of the #61 supermodified for the remainder of the 2008 season on the ISMA trail. After the departure of driver Michael Barnes, there has been a great deal of speculation as to who would become the new pilot of the potent 61. The answer came today. Shullick, a nine-year supermodified veteran commented from his North Ridgeville, Ohio home.

“Clyde and I talked last Tuesday and he presented me with a proposal. I was interested and I considered the idea. Clyde has always been, in my estimation, one of the most talented car builders and owners around. It seemed like a good fit.”

Shullick, a second-generation driver, has accomplished much in his career. At 27 he has included on his driving resume, 2005-2007 MSA Point Championships, 26 feature wins (including 2 ISMA and 2 MSA-Oswego Wing Challenge Series) and four track records. He, Charlie Schultz and Timmy Jedrzejek have come to the forefront as the “big three” of MSA racing to date. Shullick, driving the Stout 49, has pretty much done it all so far in that genre.

“I think it’s time to take the show on the road,” continued Shullick. “I believe Clyde can help me learn and working with him is a natural progression for me to take right now. I’ve always wanted to run ISMA. I’ve done a lot with MSA, but I feel it’s time for new challenges. I talked with Dad (Shullick Sr.) and he thinks it’s a good deal. I always consult him and ask his opinion, but in the end I have to decide for myself.”

The new team will debut at the Stafford ,CT Xtreme Tuesday show on July 8 where the learning process will begin.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Clyde and the team,” said Dave. “I’ve always been interested in doing my own setups and this move can only help me in the learning process. I’m anxious to get started.”
