Cannon McIntosh on the Podium at Angell Park

Five Races on Tap for this Week

BIXBY, Okla. (July 9, 2019) – After a near triumph in Sunday night’s POWRi Pepsi Nationals at Sun Prairie, Wisconsin’s Angell Park Speedway, Cannon McIntosh and the Dave Mac Motorsports Toyota-TRD Spike No. 08 team are set for five nights of battle with the USAC and POWRi Midgets this week.

The week begins with a pair of NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midget events at Meeker, Oklahoma’s Red Dirt Raceway on Tuesday night and then Kansas’ Concordia High Banks on Wednesday.

A pair of Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget League events at Grain Valley, Missouri’s Valley Speedway follows on Friday and Saturday with a combined USAC vs. POWRi event wrapping up the week at Missouri’s Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex on Sunday.

“It’s going to be a busy week, we’re looking for some good finishes along the way and maybe we can get a win or two,” McIntosh commented.

After a Saturday night rainout at Illinois’ Fairbury American Legion Speedway, McIntosh made his first visit to Angell Park Speedway for Sunday night’s storied Pepsi Nationals.

McIntosh found the Wisconsin oval to his liking, racing from fourth to win his heat race and earn the pole position for the 30-lap feature event.

After slipping back in the early going, McIntosh raced his way back into second by the midway point and reeled in the race leader over the closing rounds.  McIntosh made a last-lap move for the lead only to come up just short at the line and settling for second.

“We kind of struggled at the beginning, but once we got rolling we were good,” McIntosh explains.  “I tried to make it happen right at the end, but just couldn’t quite make it happen.”

After being so close on Sunday night, McIntosh gets five more chances beginning on Tuesday night at Red Dirt Raceway.

Along with Toyota-TRD, other marketing partners making the 2019 Cannon McIntosh slate of events possible includes Sanders and Associates, Car and Fleet, Mobil 1, Speedway Engine Development, Best Graphics, Fieldhouse Gear, Precision Inspection, Panels by Smoke, Walker Performance, Sanders Wheels, American Discount Brake and Muffler, D&N Fabrication, Darling Ingredients, PJ’s and Hinds Family.
