Thompson, CT — Julia DeMato, an American Idol top ten finalist, will sing the National Anthem at the Thompson International Speedway on Sunday, October 14th. Her performance will be the highlight of the pre-race ceremonies that will begin shortly after 12 Noon.
Born and raised in Brookfield, CT., Julia is one of seven children of Peter and Joan DeMato. At the age of 23, Julia went to New York City to wait in line for a chance to have her dream come true. She made cut after cut after cut and then she was “off to Hollywood.” Julia says, “The rest is history.”
She rose to stardom with her phenomenal voice and finished in the top ten on American Idol and then toured the United States with the American Idol Tour. Today, Julia is actively pursuing her singing career.
When asked about performing at the XTRAMART Word Series, Julia said, “I am very excited and honored to sing at this event. I grew up in a racing family. My brother, Rocky DeMato, is very active in NASCAR and all of the local racing events. He is presently the spotter for Ted Christopher on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. I look forward to meeting everyone, signing autographs and sharing my experiences.”
