NASCAR’s Jim Hunter to Speak at Promoter’s Summit

Atlantic City, NJ — Registrations are coming in at a very quick pace for the first annual Promoter’s Summit despite the fact it is almost three months away.The Promoter’s Summit is set for January 18-19 as part of the three day Motorsports 2008 presented by VP Racing Fuels Race Car Show set for the plush Atlantic City, NJ Convention Hall.

Jim Hunter, VP of Corporate Communications for NASCAR, will be a keynote speaker. He will be sharing his thoughts about the state of local short track racing and what promoters can be doing to improve the sport, attract more fans and sponsorship support.

Helping Hands Returns As NEMA’s Top Backer

Mike Jarret, under the banner of Helping Hands of America, will be the primary sponsor of the Northeastern Midget Association in 2008. It will be the fourth straight season Jarret has been involved with the club that will celebrate its 56th consecutive season.

“It’s all from my allowance from my wife,” jokes Jarret who “uses the logo of my company hoping to get it some publicity.”   He will also be back as the car owner/crew chief on the Nokie Fornoro-driven No. 4.

Cassius Clark Takes PASS South Victory In “The Howler” at Greenville

Greenville, SC — The PASS South Super Late Model tour headed to Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, South Carolina for the running of “The Howler” 150-lap event Saturday night. With the full moon shining brightly in the sky, it was Cassius Clark taking the victory over Ben Rowe in a hardcore fight to the finish in the last 50 laps of the event.

Mike Rowe was the fastest driver in qualifying, and after the Dash race he started from the third position with his son Ben starting on the point. Throughout the event, it was the younger Rowe that showed the muscle as he paced the field for the majority of the race. It wasn’t until late in the event when Clark pushed his car up into the top five, eventually sitting second to Rowe.
