Cassius Clark Takes PASS South Victory In “The Howler” at Greenville

Greenville, SC — The PASS South Super Late Model tour headed to Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, South Carolina for the running of “The Howler” 150-lap event Saturday night. With the full moon shining brightly in the sky, it was Cassius Clark taking the victory over Ben Rowe in a hardcore fight to the finish in the last 50 laps of the event.

Mike Rowe was the fastest driver in qualifying, and after the Dash race he started from the third position with his son Ben starting on the point. Throughout the event, it was the younger Rowe that showed the muscle as he paced the field for the majority of the race. It wasn’t until late in the event when Clark pushed his car up into the top five, eventually sitting second to Rowe.

On the race’s final restart at lap 100, Clark put the pressure on Ben Rowe as the laps wound down. The two drivers put on a show for the massive crowd of fans as they ran side by side for multiple laps. Clark eventually cleared Rowe and took over the lead with 16 laps remaining. Clark took the victory over Rowe, who was able to hang on to the second spot.

Derek Ramstrom made a late-race dash to the front after pitting early, crossing the line in third. Series points leader Ryan Lawler did what he needed to do to clinch the title in the series’ final event at Concord Motorsport Park (NC) next month by staying out of trouble, coming home fourth ahead of fifth-place finisher Corey Williams.

The final event of the 2007 PASS South Super Late Model tour, the second-annual Mason-Dixon Meltdown, comes November 16th and 17th to Concord Motorsport Park.
